Mr. Mueller is a native of Fort Wayne, Indiana who moved to Arizona in 1971. He graduated magna cum laude from the Arizona State University honors program in 1974, with a degree in sociology. While attending A.S.U., Mr. Mueller was named as one of the Outstanding Freshmen for the Business College, and invited to join the honorary fraternities, Phi Eta Sigma and Phi Kappa Phi.

After spending five years pursuing a music career, Mr. Mueller attended the University of Notre Dame Law School. He graduated cum laude in 1983, among the top ten members of his class. During his time at Notre Dame, Mr. Mueller was an Associate Editor of the Notre Dame Law Review, and spent time studying at the London, England campus.

Upon graduation from law school, Mr. Mueller joined the law firm of Mariscal, Weeks, McIntyre & Friedlander, P.A. He has been a shareholder since 1989, and is currently Chairman of the Recruiting Committee. Mr. Mueller practices primarily in the area of commercial litigation at the administrative, trial and appellate levels. His litigation experience has included such diverse matters as:

  • First chair for various jury trials including a successful land claim by the Seneca-Cayuga Nation of Oklahoma against the State of New York involving the value of a large parcel of land in central New York dating back to 1795, the first such claim to go to trial; accounting malpractice claims; insurance bad faith; numerous escrow agent liability matters; a nationwide advertising campaign; sale of collectible automobiles, and various construction disputes
  • Litigating complex transaction privilege tax issues at the administrative, trial and appellate levels since 1984
  • Defense of the nation's largest RICO claim filed in the United States District Court for the District of Utah

In addition, Mr. Mueller is a certified player agent with the MLBPA, the NHLPA, and the PHPA, and has experience with bankruptcy proceedings and issues, and banking procedures. Mr. Mueller also provides day-to-day legal advice to companies with multi-million dollar sales and global markets.

Mr. Mueller is admitted to practice in both state and federal courts in Arizona, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, Ninth Circuit and the Tenth Circuit. He has served as counsel for the State Bar of Arizona and is a faculty member for its Professionalism course required for all Arizona bar admitees.
