David Thompson's practice encompasses a wide variety of corporate, transactional and business matters, with particular emphasis on providing strategic counsel to management of small to mid-size companies. He regularly represents buyers and sellers of closely-held businesses in the negotiation, documentation and closing of purchase and sale transactions. He has substantial experience in corporate finance, assisting clients with securities offerings and secured lending, including real estate acquisition and development projects. He has also represented clients in administrative proceedings and investigations involving federal securities, trade and banking regulatory agencies, and a number of state insurance, securities and banking agencies.

Mr. Thompson is a 1979 magna cum laude graduate of Amherst College and earned his law degree in 1982 from the University of Virginia. He is an active member of the American Bar Association's Business Law Section, and is a past chairman of the Tort & Insurance Practice Section's Civil Procedure and Evidence Committee. He is admitted to practice in Arizona and Ohio (inactive), as well as to the bars of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.

He is a member of the Board of Directors of Arizona Ballet School, Inc., and is actively involved with fundraising and other alumni activities for Amherst College.
