David V. Burkett is an associate at Mariscal, Weeks, McIntyre & Friedlander, P.A. His practice includes real estate and general business transactions, the latter focused on companies in the information technology sector. He regularly helps small and medium-sized companies and individuals buy and sell property, start business ventures, enter deals and protect their property and contractual rights. Mr. Burkett was admitted to the Arizona bar in November 2005 and is also admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the District of Arizona.

Mr. Burkett is a 2005 cum laude graduate of the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University and a recipient of a Certificate in Law, Science and Technology with a concentration in Intellectual Property.  He was named the ASU Alumni Association’s Outstanding Graduate for 2005 and the Outstanding Note and Comment Editor on the Law Journal the same year. Mr. Burkett received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Pitzer College in Claremont, California, in 1989.

Mr. Burkett is a member of the Board of Directors for Dancers & Health Together, Inc., a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to promoting the health benefits of dance. He also serves as a clinic attorney and lecturer for ASU's Volunteer Legal Assistance for Artists program.

Before entering law school, Mr. Burkett spent over a decade in management for media companies, first at Warner Brothers Television in Burbank, California, and then for several IT companies in Chicago.
