Members of the firm have substantial experience both in representing governmental agencies at all levels and in representing clients before various public bodies.
Our governmental clients include the State of Arizona, several counties and municipalities, as well as school districts and community colleges. Currently the firm serves as Town Attorney for the Towns of Cave Creek, and Queen Creek and City Attorney for the City of Holbrook. Members of the firm have represented the City of Scottsdale in acquiring property for that City's McDowell Mountains Preserve and in negotiating the development agreements for five of the States largest regional shopping centers. The Firm also served as counsel to the Town of Cave Creek (and previously as special counsel to the governor) in connection with the establishment of the Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area. Other municipal clients include the Town of Paradise Valley, the Town of Gilbert, the City of Mesa, the City of Chandler, the City of Flagstaff and the City of Sedona. A member of the Firm serves as counsel to the Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) and to the Northern Intergovernmental Public Transportation Authority (NAIPTA). We have also represented the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors in a number of highly-publicized cases, including budget litigation with the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office and in eminent domain proceedings arising out of the Bank One Ballpark project. We have also represented the Coconino County Board of Supervisors (in a dispute involving several school districts in that County) and the Mohave County Board of Supervisors (in a dispute with the County courts). The Firm has also represented the State of Arizona, including The Maricopa County Superior Court in actions adverse to The Maricopa County Attorney’s Office.
The firm also frequently represents clients who appear before governmental agencies. Because of the broad scope of our practice, we are constantly dealing with, and appearing before, public bodies, including the Arizona Corporation Commission, the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality, the Registrar of Contractors, the Arizona Liquor Licensing Board, the Arizona State Procurement Office, and various city and county agencies, including the Phoenix City Council. We have also represented clients in a variety of disputes involving school districts and have appeared in front of several school boards, including the Navajo County Community College District a/k/a Northland Pioneer College, the Madison School District, the Paradise Valley School District, the Phoenix Union High School District, the Deer Valley School District, and the Maricopa County Community College District.
