The Health Care Group has extensive experience in representing hospitals, medical staff, physicians (individually, and in groups) nursing care institutions, out-patient treatment clinics, preferred provider organizations, physician hospital organizations and third party administrators. Our attorneys have drafted hundreds of contracts for these clients, while advising them on everything from antitrust to zoning.
Our health care practice includes assisting in the purchase and sale of health care institutions and systems, including hospitals and nursing homes, as well as representation of various health care providers in connection with the issuance of more than $200 million in tax exempt bonds. In addition, we represent hospitals and developers in all aspects of development and leasing medical office buildings.
We also represent hospitals, medical staff and individual physicians in medical staff disciplinary proceedings and before state licensing and regulatory agencies, and assist in implementing and analyzing Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules and Regulations.
Our attorneys represent provider network organizations, group practices and individual physicians in all areas of managed care contracting (from negotiation of contracts to enforcement litigation) and network selection and deselection. We also represent group practices and individual physicians in negotiating, drafting and enforcing employment and independent contractor agreements, including providing advice on alternative compensation methods and the enforceability of various types of restrictive covenants. In addition, our attorneys represent non-profit/tax exempt organizations in transactions designed to ensure preservation of their tax exempt status and avoidance of intermediate sanctions.
