The Taxation and Estate Planning Group focuses on providing clients with all of the requisite information that may affect their economic welfare. In doing so, these attorneys provide tax planning services, as well as representation before federal and state administrative and judicial bodies.
In addition, we assist clients in achieving their estate planning objectives, while minimizing taxes through wills, trusts and other instruments. Our attorneys represent clients in the preparation of trust agreements, including living trusts, insurance trusts, charitable lead and remainder trusts, charitable organizations, family limited partnerships, limited liability companies, powers of attorney and living wills, as well as representation regarding estate and gift tax audits and probate and trust proceedings involving multi-million dollar estates. Our taxation and estate planning attorneys are regularly utilized to advise clients throughout the firm as to the tax ramifications of litigation settlements, real estate transactions, business asset distributions, executive compensation and marital dissolutions. Our clients include a diverse group of industries, from contractors to auctioneers.
We have also challenged the assessment of sales and use taxes by the Department of Revenue and local governments and have helped formulate sales tax reimbursement mechanisms for developers and municipalities in connection with the development of regional shopping centers and other projects.
